Brief/Problem

While HBF was expanding nationally from organic and inorganic growth, it was also building out non-PHI revenues from dental, physiotherapy and other health services. The CEO and EGM People and Corporate Affairs needed a new operating model design to internally reflect the rapid realisation of its external diversification strategy.

The Hyfen Approach

Grounded in cultural and strategic discovery conducted with HBF’s top team of executives and leaders, Hyfen co-designed an operating model for the future. This included refreshed decision forums, changes to delegations, clarification of executive contributions, redesigned roles, new cross functional ways of working, talent pathways and realignment of the organisational design.

Result

This partnership led to Hyfen being engaged for almost a year as an implementation partner on its delivery of HBF’s scaled agile implementation (new ways of working), which the CEO leveraged as one of the foundation pieces for further operating model changes.

“Our member-focussed, health-led national strategy is ambitious. To align HBF behind this vision, Hyfen Consulting has been our trusted operating model partner. Adaptable and delivery focussed, Kirstin has been a considered and broad-thinking advisor to me. Hyfen Consulting has also seamlessly partnered with our M&A, P&CA and Scaled Agile teams on the delivery of significant organisational change and several acquisitions over the last few years.”
