Brief/Problem

To establish a national footprint, HBF was looking to acquire aligned cultural PHI businesses outside of its home state in WA. With two acquisitions in the pipeline where the key assets were the customer book and talent, HBF asked Hyfen to supplement its in-house business development team on due diligence, bringing expertise on culture, people, IR and post-integration operating models to the deal room.

The Hyfen Approach

Hyfen Consulting partnered with the HBF strategy team and with P&C to undertake due diligence, assess risks and manage workforce change and IR strategies. Hyfen had input on key valuation metrics for deal evaluation, and designed operating models for post-merger integration. With Hyfen partnering the in-house P&C and Strategy team, the first 18 months of synergies (revenue and operational) were mapped out and became realisable.

Result

HBF achieved alignment of culture and operating model in the deals, a successful transfer of business and retention of talent. HBF delivered an integrated workforce strategy which enabled it to realise deal value objectives and retain deal value post-transaction.
